Import Contacts from a CSV

CSV import is best for a clean list with one header row and one person per row. Start with a small sample when the file is unfamiliar.

Where to find it: Admin → Pipeline → Contacts

What to do

  1. Remove blank rows, merged cells, formulas, and unrelated notes from the file.
  2. Use separate columns for first name, last name, email, phone, and other fields.
  3. Start the import and map each source column to the correct CRM field.
  4. Review duplicate and exclusion warnings before confirming.
  5. Check several imported contacts, then apply tags or create follow-up work.

Good to know

  • Keep a copy of the original file.
  • An imported contact is not automatically safe to email; consent and suppression rules still apply.
